Thrift Shopping #TBT

Heyyy Everyone,

I was inspired by this song: Thrift Shop by Macklemore Ft. Wanz 

It's a Throw Back Thursday because I went on a quest a few months ago to actually go thrift shopping which is the equivalent of charity shops in the England, but it doesn't sound as cool. So instead I decided to go vintage shopping and near my aunt's house is Brick Lane, this is like a treasure chest crammed with cute little vintage shops. 

 This is the first one I went to "The east End Thrift Store" I was walking around for literally ages, in circles, trying to find this place! Basically, its down a little road (see above) and the door has the big shop sign on (also see above to see what it looks like.) The atmosphere in there was so cool like you have walked into some sort of secret garden. The shop was full of rails and racks of clothes all which were vintage and sorted by type of clothing. I was instantly attracted to the over sized bleached denim jacket with slightly "Aztec" detail on the front zip pockets and it was only £15! Bargain, however I didn't get it because i absolutely drowned in the jacket, it was huge.
I recommend this store if you are in East London and love searching for unique items, love vintage fashion or exploring the secret places within the city of London.

Okai so everyone love MAC, but this MAC was different at first I didn't even recognize it. All of the stores on Commercial street has some kind of uniform to them, on the exterior they looks identical with the same minty green wooden look if i remember right and obviously the signs are different. Also what shocked me was, for once MAC wasn't packed like in Westfield, so the shop assistants were there to help whenever. 

I was so excited for the Lomography store and it was just amazing. The variety of different types of Lomogrpahy cameras was obscene, I was inspired by my discovery of Lomography in my previous post. I brought a mint green Diana F lomogrpahy camera!!! I'm well haps :) Also this is on commercial street like MAC the shop assistant was very helpful and advised me as I am a beginner.

Absolute Vintage was one of the shop which I came across on the internet, however I wasn't planning to go there. Although I saw it as I was making my way from the Lomogrpahy Store (Commercial Street) to Rokit (Brick Lane), so I popped in. i didn't really like the vibe that much as it was in a large warehouse with no lighting therefore on dark days, you wouln't really be able to actually browse thoroughly  The people who owned the shops seemed... a bit grumpy tbh and they were really stressy about no pictures but yolo. I quite liked this bag as it was a little tan brown leather vintage bag with a strap and intricate vintage detailing, i think it was about £20. 

Rokit is a small chain of vintage shops in the London Area, i really like the cool & funky atmosphere in there. It had loads of variety of clothing and accessories. They also sell upcycled things such as the jeans turned into slouchy denim bags with belts as a strap (see above) I thought that was very clever. My favorite is the Levi denim Shorts in size 6, perfect for petite me. FAB!

Young Saatchi

Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while ICT GCSE is stressing me out. Today me and a group of other girls from my school who study Art when to the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, SW London. Very posh area ;) The main purpose of the art trip was to form an acquaintance with the Saatchi Gallery and represent the young people inputting what goes on in the Famous Art Gallery which is free for the public to view ad has Free Family Days.

At the moment there is a Russian exhibition on revealing  Russian artists work after the Soviet Union Collapsed. I found it so interesting to look and intriguing to find out the story behind the art works.

I was in a rush this morning with hair and make up so I totally forgot to add accessories, sorry!

This rope was just dangling from a hole in the ceiling in a room detached from the main exhibition room and it was just laying there so silently abstract.

Russian Criminal Tattoo Encylopedia Print 

The extensive range of designs made by prisoners onto their skin. These homemade tattoos, scraped and inked into skin with melted book heels, urine or blood, contained a whole range of coded messages against the Soviet regime and about the prisoners’ individual crimes.

Gallery 1 was one of the best!

I love it the most because of the further meaning of these black and white photographs, basically the story behind these are prisoner in Russia would have a "Tattoo Encyclopedia " on their body and each of the tattoo tell a story and I found this so inspirational. 

The tattoo designs were individual to the person and their crimes, the tattoos were done to show secret rebellion against the Soviet union (Knee tattoos to shows they will not kneel down to the authorities), Cat if they were a burglar, Various symbols to show how many people they had murdered or how many crimes they had committed.

Valery Koshlyakov’s large-scale cardboard paintings, collages and installations – sometimes hanging from the ceiling, sometimes made out of sticky tape placed 

directly onto the gallery walls – irreverently engage with ideas of empire. 

Covered in paint drips, his flattened-box panels are blown-up postcard images of state-approved classical and monumental European architecture that have more in common with street art than with photorealistic obedience. They look wet, urgent, quickly rendered, and they show his iconic subjects, from a Soviet stadium to a gothic cathedral, as a madman’s fantasy.

These pieces are just so fascinating how they are made of scraps of cardboard and created using a limited paint palette. The thing I love the most is that this artist used the cardboard in it's raw form, for example he allowed the previous cardboard text to show, stabbed the cardboard and he has ripped layers of the cardboard away to show the corrugated side. 

I like how this student had edited these photographs by sectioning them into circles therefore rotating some of the photo looking distorted.

Everything LOMOGRAPHY

Heyyy Everyone,

Ages ago I too a screen shot of something called a Lomography camera and Taylor Swift apparently has taken some shots with it, she like a big inspiration for me. In music, life and FASHION :)

Sooo what is Lomography..
The camera themselves are supossed to produce amazing photos with the effects and just to warn you these are not digital camera, most Lotography cameras need AA batteries and 35 mm film, but the cameras themselves are such a fashion statement (depending on the one you've got)

Street Style: Headphones

Hello Wonderful people,

You helped me reach the 1,000 mark on my blog ! I think this is such an amazing achievement :)

This morning I was on the bus to school and it was really crowded *sigh BUT I saw this girl with these amazing sleek headphones and I was just like in my head "Those are g o r g e o u s <3"  So I asked her and she did the thing where she can see i'm trying to speak to her so she lifts her headphone of one ear and say "What?" then I repeated it and... "ITALY" I was like wahhhh D: No change i'n going back to Italy any time soon.

These headphones so popular and I think they are so over- rated, however I do love the range of colours they came in and they are quite stylish :)

I love the contemporary look of these headphones, it looks so modern and it looks like it was based on architecture, due to the defined sharp lines. I know these are a pricey but maybe for a big birthday or Christmas present when all your friends or family chip in. These would definitely make you stand out of the crowd and it would contrast a girly outfit, so well, in a good way! Or a rock chic look but definately STREET STYLE <3

Random: Everything VEGETABLES

omgoshhhh ! so I just finished editing this post about vegetables and then I close the tab and it hasn't saved. Wtf ? I'm a little bit pissed, Hopefully I will try and Remember what I wrote but I doubt it ...

Anyways, let's start properly:

Man! I can't remember *sigh

So normally I hate watching adverts there just so stupid somtimes, but this one I actually like it's so catchy and it's about vegetables!

Personally I prefer vegetables to fruit (people say i'm strange, mehhh)

So I wasn't sure what do do my next post on so I thought why not some thing random like... Vegetables!

I did my research and I found that Dolce and Gabanna released a fashion collection inspired by fruit and vegetables at the Milan Fashion week as part of their Spring/ Summer collection. 

I think that all three of these outfits are stunning in their own ways.

Left design: 

Lovley, summery bright colour which is perfect for a day time event where you would want to make a big fashion statement. The shoes have a very modern edge due to the clear upper part of the high heel.

Central design:

More for a warm evening event such a s a BBQ. This design contrasts the left design as it has opposing colours on the colour wheel and instead of the design being very structured and defined it is much more free so that when the model strut her stuff on the catwalk it elegantly ripples out. Black strappy high heels would be perfectly matched with a girly dress and a leather biker jacket 

Right Design:

Short cute summer or spring dress for the warmer weather, the big buttons down the front center of the dress is a nice touch. The thing that stand out most when I see this model wearing D & G design is the big statement head piece is is so extravagant and beautifully outrageous.

1. I love the abstraction in this design, the top is really cute as it looks like a suit/top

2. Really cute design! I love the bright orange and the cut out of the fabric in the dress, especially the cute bow tieing it together in the center. Also the two bows on either shoulder, add the finishing touch as it's just so feminine. Also the bottom of the dress looks slightly pleated as it is cinching in above at the belly button

3. I love how the top is so fitted to the model's figure also the halter neck is really cute as it is quite unusual to see these in designs and the skirt is really beautiful as it sits above her hips enhancing the glamorous look. Also I absolutely love the High heel platforms as the neon pink is so futuristic and the black always compromises pink. The matching shoes, bag and earrings are so glamerous.

4. This outfit screams "SUMMER" at me! The gorgeous yellow sunnies look stunning with the matching accessorizes and the dress.
